Naomi Cox, 68, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, peacefully passed away, Friday, May 16, 2025, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Short-Cunningham Funeral Home, 527 N. Mulberry Street, Mt. Carmel, Illinois.
Naomi was born on October 3, 1956, the daughter of George Jackson and Goldie Lee (Blair) Haggard in Princeton, Indiana. She graduated from Mt. Carmel High School in the class of 1974.
Naomi worked as a Security Officer for Allied Universal for fourteen years. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren.
Left to treasure Naomi’s memory are her children, Joe (Crystal) Cox of Jackson, Tennessee, Jason Cox of Mt. Carmel, and Josh (Lisa) Cox of Grayville, Illinois; grandchildren, Alanna, Axton, Leah, Lucy and Jude; and siblings, Tommy Haggard of Flora, Illinois and Jackie (Jan) Woods of Tacoma, Washington.
Naomi was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Arlene Gillihan, Carolyn Christmas, Nellie Haggard, and two infant sisters; brothers, George and Paul Haggard; and longtime companion, Denis Havill.
