The Mt. Carmel City Council has pledged to help a local resident find a solution to a drainage issue caused by a neighbor. Shirley Graetz lives at 8 Lambert Drive and she told the council Monday that her neighbor has aimed their downspout toward her property. Senior Citizens Center To Undergo Name Change

What’s in a name? That’s what Mt. Carmel officials are trying to figure out when it comes to the Wabash County Senior Citizens Center. Commissioner Joe Judge reported at Monday’s City Council meeting that efforts are being made to boost lunch attendance at the senior center. But an issue preventing more people from eating there may be in the name of the center itself…

With that in mind, Judge said beginning July 1st, a name change will take place and the Wabash County Senior Citizens will be known as the WC Cafeteria and Senior Center. Judge unveiled a new logo that will be placed on the doors of the center beginning next month. He said the change results from conversations with many of the center’s patrons.
