The Mt. Carmel City Council has taken three bids under advisement for the city’s cemetery mowing contract. The bids were opened at Monday’s City Council meeting and broke down like this:
K & K Small Jobs in Grayville bid $700 for each mowing;
Clean Cut Lawn Care bid a total of $27,000 for the 31 week mowing season;
Banks Mowing bid $650 and $250 for weedeating each time.
City Clerk Rudy Witsman said the bids will analyzed and a decision is expected at their next meeting in two weeks. Previously, Witsman floated the possibility that city crews may mow the cemeteries this year if money could be saved.
