Tip Leads To Meth Arrest

On July 6, 2018, Mt. Carmel Police and the Wabash County Sheriff's Department received a tip that 33 year old Brandon H. Rayborn of Mt. Carmel was at 1015 W. 5th Street and was in possession of methamphetamine.  Police responded to the home and reported a strong chemical odor smell which is associated with the manufacturing of methamphetamine.  Rayborn eventually answered the door and confirmed that he was on probation for a methamphetamine charge from 2017. The arresting officer's requested Rayborn submit to a urinalysis test as part of his probation.  Rayborn asked the officer if he could retrieve his keys so he could lock up his residence and when he took the officer into his residence, the officer observed suspected methamphetamine setting out on a mirror.  Rayborn was arrested and transported to the  Wabash County Jail where he is being charged with possession of methamphetamine.  Mt. Carmel Police was assisted by the Wabash County Sheriff's Office.
