Decision Not Expected Soon On Legal Weed In Mt. Carmel

Will you be able to buy recreational marijuana legally in Mt. Carmel when the state’s new law allowing it goes into effect January 1st? At tonight’s city council meeting, Mayor Joe Judge said don’t expect an answer to that question any time soon….

Judge said the Illinois Municipal League is hosting a conference in Chicago in September that will answer some important questions…

Last month, Illinois became the 11th state in the country to legalize recreational pot.

Pipe Replacement Scheduled for SR 67 Near Edwardsport

KNOX COUNTY – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a pipe replacement project for State Road 67 just south of Edwardsport.

Beginning on or around Monday, July 22, INDOT Maintenance Crews will begin working to excavate and replace a drainage culvert on S.R. 67 just north of the junction of S.R. 358. Work on this roadway is expected to last about a week depending upon weather conditions. Poor weather could cause delays and extend the time frame.

During the operations, S.R. 67 will be completely closed. Local traffic will have access up to the point of closure, but hrough traffic will need to use the official detour using S.R. 159, and S.R. 58. Crews will open the road during following the operation, though traffic will need to be aware that the pipe replacement sites will not be paved until later. Fill material will compacted under normal traffic conditions.

INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews.

Princeton Ramp Closure Delayed

GIBSON COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a delay for a ramp closure at the interchange of U.S. 41 and State Road 64 in Princeton.

Beginning on or around Monday July, 22, Contractors will begin the second ramp closure in the project to patch all of the ramps on the interchange. The second ramp closure would be from westbound S.R. 64 to northbound U.S. 41.

This work was originally scheduled to begin on July 15, however concerns about the effect of Tropical Storm Barry in the Gulf of Mexico and how the weather system will move through the Hoosier State led contractors to push the work back a week.

Ramps will be done consecutively and work is expected to last for about a week on each one. During the closures, Motorists can use the remaining open ramps to maneuver to their destination.

INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews.
