More Details Emerge On Mt. Carmel's New Leaf Vac Program

Mt. Carmel’s revamped leaf vac program is preparing to begin within the next couple of weeks. At last night’s city council meeting, city clerk Rudy Witsman said crews are preparing the only operable leaf vac that the city has. Last month, the city council approved restarting the leaf vac requiring residents to purchase a $30 ticket if they choose to participate. Last night, Witsman clarified a couple of points about the program…

Witsman said once you purchase a $30 ticket, it might be 2 or 3 days until your leaves are taken care of and pickups will be dependent on the weather. Witsman said the leaf vac program will continue as long as the machine doesn’t break down. He said the city continues to pick up bagged leaves free of charge around town.
